SSU and Defence Forces strike key russian oil facilities: refineries, pumping and blending stations
In conjunction with other components of the Ukrainian Defence Forces, the Security Service of Ukraine has carried out long-range strikes on four key russian oil infrastructure facilities in the Samara and Volgograd regions.
Drones of the SSU Alfa Special Operations Centre, jointly with the Unmanned Systems Forces, the Special Operations Forces and the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine struck the Samara line-production-dispatch station, as well as the Samara-1 and Samara-2 pumping stations near the village of Prosvet. Fires were reported on the premises following the strikes.
Additionally, the Volgograd oil refinery was hit in a joint operation with the DIU. Fires were recorded on the refinery’s premises. NASA’s FIRMS satellite service detected fire hotspots near the delayed coking section and the ELOU-AVT-1 and ELOU-AVT-5 refining units, which are key components of the facility.
The SSU continues its systematic efforts to degrade russia’s revenue from oil refining. Attacks on such plants directly impact the entire oil industry, complicating oil transport and refining, disrupting logistics, and reducing export volumes.
