In conjunction with the Defence Forces, the Security Service of Ukraine carried out successful strikes on the Slavneft-YANOS oil refinery in Yaroslavl, russia, located more than 700 km from Ukraine’s state border, as well as on FSB coastguard vessels in the temporarily occupied city of Kerch.

The Yaroslavl oil refinery is one of the five largest enterprises in the russian oil refining industry, with an annual crude oil processing capacity of almost 15 million tonnes. It produces petrol, diesel fuel, aviation kerosene, and other important petroleum products for central russia and moscow metropolitan area. Following the Ukrainian drone attack, at least six explosions were reported at the plant, and fires broke out in four different parts of the facility.

According to preliminary reports, four RVS-2000 crude oil storage tanks were damaged, resulting in a spill. Two of the tanks are engulfed in flames. The key processing units ELOU-1 and AVT-3 were also damaged and caught fire.

Furthermore, two Project 10410 (Svitlyak) patrol vessels of the russian FSB coast guard — the Balaklava and the Kerch – were damaged in drone strikes on the port area in Kerch (the temporarily occupied Autonomous Republic of Crimea).

The Security Service of Ukraine is consistently working to degrade russia’s military and economic potential. Military facilities and enterprises in the fuel and energy sector that directly support russian aggression against Ukraine will continue to be targeted.
