SBU together with Atlantic Council continue to cooperate for assessing emerging threats and stabilization of security situation
The SBU will continue to cooperate with the think tank of the Atlantic Council (USA) on assessment of new threats and stabilization of security situation in Ukraine, particularly on the East.
The aforesaid issues were discussed during an official meeting between the head of the SBU Ivan Bakanov with the representatives of the Atlantic Council. Head of the Eurasia Center and the 5th United States Ambassador to Ukraine John E. Herbst chaired a meeting.
“We are so grateful to our US partners for steady and constant assistance to our country. It is proved by the common statement of strategic partnership between Ukraine and the United States signed by both presidents of our countries last week in Washington”, noted Ivan Bakanov.
John E. Herbst stated that this meeting is a golden opportunity to continue a dialogue on security situation in Ukraine and the significance of American-Ukrainian cooperation to counteract Russian aggression.
Moreover, the parties discussed security challenges in the Black and Azov Sea regions as well as the new threats posed by Russia.
The head of the SBU underlined that now the bilateral cooperation with US partners is on a high level. Taking into account a violation of the ceasefire regime in eastern Ukraine by Russian troops which they should follow since July 2020, the importance of cooperation is especially relevant.
