SSU and SBI deliver UAH 20 mln worth of spare parts for AFU armoured vehicles to front line
Following the Security Service and the SBI’s investigation, a large shipment of components for Ukrainian armoured vehicles has been delivered to meet the needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. This includes over 3,800 components for T-64 and T-72 tanks, as well as BMP-2 and MT-LB fighting vehicles.
The delivery of equipment to the front lines became possible thanks to law enforcement authorities exposing illegal activities of a Kyiv-based company.
An investigation by the SSU Office in Kyiv Region and the State Bureau of Investigation established that this company, which sells components for artillery and small arms, may be using illegal schemes to evade taxation.
During searches of the company’s warehouses, the SSU and SBI discovered military products of unknown origin that the business owners had not reported in their accounting records.
Specifically, this involved 109 pallets of spare parts for heavy weapons, with a book value of UAH 20 mln (USD 458,000).
During the investigative proceedings, the entrepreneurs agreed to voluntarily transfer the discovered batch of components to the Armed Forces of Ukraine as charitable aid for the front lines.
The investigation, initiated under Article 191.5 of the CCU (misappropriation, embezzlement, or acquisition of property through abuse of official position), is ongoing to establish all the circumstances of the crime.
The investigative actions were carried out by the SSU Office in Kyiv and Kyiv region in cooperation with the State Bureau of Investigation under the procedural supervision of the Prosecutor General’s Office.
