Kharkiv: SSU and cyberpolice detain owner of russian company that helps ROSCOSMOS launch spy satellites
In Kharkiv, the SSU and cyberpolice detained a russian accomplice who worked for the military and space forces of the aggressor country.
The suspect is a 47-year-old resident of Kharkiv, CEO of a russian company that installs spy Kondor-FKA and Obzor-R satellites.
Ruscists use these space systems to detect actual geolocations of the Defense Forces, adjust enemy fire, and conduct reconnaissance.
To calibrate and adjust the russian satellites, the suspect entered into relevant agreements with the ROSKOSMOS corporation.
According to the signed document, the perpetrator transferred the company's test site to the russian aerospace forces.
The contractor signed all the necessary documents via email, and gave instructions to his subordinates in russia via chats in messenger apps.
The investigation also revealed that before the start of the full-scale war, the traitor had been living in russia for a long time and even became a participant in the kremlin's program of resettlement to the aggressor country.
Law enforcement officers documented the subversive activities of the offender and detained him at his home in Kharkiv.
During the searches, the detainee was seized of a russian passport, computer equipment and mobile phones with evidence of criminal actions.
In addition, the offender and his possible accomplices were found to have more than UAH 10 million (USD 243,000), allegedly received for cooperation with the occupiers.
SSU investigators served him a notice of suspicion under Article 111-2.1 of the CCU (aiding the aggressor state).
The offender is in custody and faces up to 12 years in prison with confiscation of property.
The investigation is ongoing to bring to justice all those involved in assisting the aggressor in the war against Ukraine.
The operation was carried out by the SSU Office in Kharkiv region jointly with the Cybercrime Directorate of the Cyberpolice Department in Kharkiv region under the procedural supervision of the Regional Prosecutor's Office.
