Explosion near Pavlohrad Territorial Recruitment Center: SSU and National Police detain culprits within a day (video)
The SSU and the National Police apprehended a group of enemy agents who committed a terrorist attack in Dnipropetrovsk region on 2 February this year.
The perpetrators detonated an improvised explosive device near a Territorial Recruitment Center in Pavlohrad. As a result, the 24-year-old serviceman sustained shrapnel wounds.
In this way, russian intelligence services tried to discredit the activities of territorial recruitment centers and disrupt mobilization, sowing public distrust in the military.
As a result of the operation in Dnipro and Odesa region, the law enforcement detained all members of the agent group within a day.
They are three men aged 21 and 22, who were looking for easy money on Telegram. They were recruited remotely by the russian intelligence services, who offered them money in exchange for cooperation.
Following instructions from the handler, one of the perpetrators, a resident of Pavlohrad, made an IED and hid it in a cache near his home.
The bomb was stuffed with nails and nuts to increase the impact of the detonation.
Another two agents, from Odesa oblast, travelled to Pavlohrad, where received the coordinates of the cache. From there, they took the bag with the IED and planted it near the building of the recruitment center.
The enemy accomplices also installed a hidden video surveillance camera in front of the center to record the aftermath of the terrorist attack.
After that, the occupiers remotely activated the IED by calling a mobile phone.
The law enforcement detained the suspects in their homes, where they were waiting for money from their handler.
However, instead of the promised payment from russia, the traitors received suspicion notices from the SSU under Article 258.2 of the CCU (terrorist act).
The court is to decide on a measure of restraint. The suspects face up to 12 years in prison with confiscation of property.
The operation was carried out by the SSU Dnipro and Odesa Offices jointly with the National Police under the procedural supervision of Dnipro Specialized Prosecutor’s Office for Defence of the Eastern Region.
