SSU and National Police expose collaborator who worked for russia’s occupation administration after Kupiansk’s capture

The Security Service and the National Police have exposed yet another collaborator who worked for the ruscists during the temporary occupation of the Kharkiv region in 2022.

The perpetrator turned out to be a local handyman who lived in the Kupiansk district and, after the community was captured, voluntarily joined the enemy ‘administration’.

After being appointed assistant to the gauleiter of the village of Dvorichna, he helped set up ‘workplaces’ in the seized government buildings.

The suspect also conducted an illegal ‘census’ of the local population, specifically preparing reports for the russians on the number of residents and collecting their personal data.

The enemy was most interested in the addresses of people who might be involved in the resistance movement and who were subsequently imprisoned in the local torture chamber.

After the de-occupation of the settlement, the collaborator fled to Kharkiv, where he lived in a rented apartment and hoped to lay low in the big city to evade justice.

But such secrecy did not help him – the SSU located and detained him.

He has now been notified of his status as a suspect under Article 111-1.5 of the CCU (collaboration).

The perpetrator faces up to 10 years in prison with confiscation of property.

The operation was carried out by the SSU Office in the Kharkiv region in cooperation with the National Police under the procedural supervision of the Kupiansk District Prosecutor’s Office.
