SSU and National Police name another ruscist suspect in absentia – he tortured and robbed civilians during Bucha’s occupation

The Security Service of Ukraine and the National Police have collected evidence against a russian serviceman who committed war crimes during the temporary occupation of the Kyiv region.

The perpetrator is sergeant Magomedmirza Suleimanov, a platoon commander in the 37th separate motorised rifle brigade of the 36th army of russia’s Eastern military district.

He had previously been declared suspect in absentia – on suspicion of the murder of a female civilian after inflicting grievous bodily harm upon her.

Another incident involving Suleimanov’s crimes has now been uncovered in the village of Makariv in the Bucha district.

Under the pretext of searching for members of the resistance movement, the armed serviceman burst into a private home where three female civilians were present.

He held a gun to the victims’ heads at point-blank range, threatening to shoot each of them and demanding money.

Ultimately, the invader forcibly took the women’s savings and ripped jewellery directly from their bodies.

Based on the evidence, SSU investigators have notified Suleimanov of suspicion in absentia under Article 438.1 of the CCU (war crimes, specifically the cruel treatment of civilians).

Efforts to bring him to justice are underway.

The investigation was conducted by the SSU Office in Kyiv and the Kyiv region, jointly with the Criminal Investigation Department of the National Police, under the procedural supervision of the Kyiv Regional Prosecutor’s Office.
