SSU and National Police prevent terrorist attack planned by ruscists for 7 March in Mykolaiv
The Security Service of Ukraine and the National Police have detained a 19-year-old enemy accomplice from Mykolaiv, who was to commit a terrorist attack on russia’s orders near the regional police department on 7 March 2025.
According to the investigation, the girl was supposed to leave an improvised explosive device disguised as a plastic bag near the police building.
At that moment, russians planned to remotely detonate the IED together with the agent, whom they considered expendable.
Thanks to the coordinated actions of the SSU and the National Police, the tragedy was averted, and the terrorist was caught in the act when she arrived at the target destination by a taxi.
Explosives with incendiary mixture and two mobile phones were seized during searches at the scene. The russian special service planned to use one of the phones for remote detonation, and the other was used for communication with the asset.
The girl came to enemy’s attention as she was looking for quick money on Telegram channels. There, she was offered money in exchange for cooperation, and after agreeing, was provided with step-by-step instructions.
Soon, the agent took the bomb from a pre-arranged cache and connected a mobile phone to it for remote activation.
To disguise the explosive device, she put it in a household bag.
SSU investigators have served the detainee a notice of suspicion under Articles 15.3, 258.1 of the CCU (unfinished attempt to commit a terrorist attack).
The suspect is in custody without bail and faces up to 10 years in prison with confiscation of property.
The operation was carried out under the procedural supervision of Mykolaiv Region Prosecutor’s Office.
