SSU and National Police detain two enemy accomplices involved in arsons in Vinnytsia region
The SSU and the National Police have apprehended another two enemy agents who carried out arson attacks in Vinnytsia region on russia’s order. The targets were vehicles of the Armed Forces and volunteer organizations.
The perpetrators are two local unemployed men aged 18 and 37. They were looking for easy money on Telegram, where they came to the attention of the russian intelligence.
The investigation revealed that the two arsonists acted separately.
One of them was detained in hot pursuit when he set fire to a Multivan of an Armed Forces veteran who used the car to transport aid from volunteers.
After setting fire to the vehicle, the man was supposed to carry out a series of sabotage attacks on Ukrainian railways. But the law enforcement agencies disrupted the enemy’s plans.
Another saboteur received instructions to set fire to military trucks Ural and KrAZ.
The individual prepared to commit the crime, but the SSU and the National Police acted proactively and detained him when he was about to set fire to the AFU trucks.
Both detainees were notified of suspicion of crimes under the Articles of the CCU (in accordance with the actions each of them carried out):
- 114-1.1 (obstruction of lawful activities of the AFU and other military formations);
- 15.3, 114-1.1 (unfinished attempt to obstruct the lawful activities of the AFU).
The suspects are in custody and face up to 8 years in prison.
The operation was carried out by the SSU Office in Vinnytsia region jointly with the National Police under the procedural supervision of the regional Prosecutor’s Office.
