SSU and National Police detain four enemy agents who prepared February 14 terrorist attack in downtown Mykolaiv on russia’s order
Within one day, the SSU and the National Police apprehended agents of russian intelligence services who were preparing a terrorist attack in Mykolaiv on 14 February this year on russia’s instructions. The evidence of this has been collected and their connection with the enemy has been fully documented.
The ruscists used a woman from Poltava region to blow her up with explosives near a cafe in the centre of Mykolaiv.
As a result, the woman and three servicemen were killed on the spot, and seven other people received injuries of varying severity.
The SSU Counterintelligence detained the aggressor’s accomplices in hot pursuit. They were four underage residents of Poltava district aged 14 to 17 years old, recruited by the occupiers through Telegram channels offering ‘easy money’.
Following the instructions of russian special services, the youngsters made an improvised explosive device, hid it in a backpack and handed it over to a 42-year-old woman from a neighbouring village.
In exchange for a promise of ‘quick payment’ from russia, she came to Mykolaiv to supposedly ‘hand over a bag of money’ to a local resident.
Unaware that she was carrying a disguised IED, she approached a car park near a cafe where a group of Ukrainian soldiers were standing.
As soon as the woman approached them, the russians remotely activated the IED via a mobile phone call.
The enemy had prepared in advance the elimination of its agent as an ‘unnecessary’ witness to the terrorist attack.
After preparing and handing over the bomb, the teenagers ‘lay low’ at their homes, waiting for money from the occupiers.
There, they were detained by the law enforcement. Mobile phones with evidence of contacts with the FSB, as well as components for IEDs, were seized during searches.
The four perpetrators have been notified of suspicion under Articles 28.2, 258.3 of the CCU (terrorist act, committed upon prior conspiracy, by a group, resulting in the death of people).
The suspects are in custody. Despite their young age, they face life imprisonment.
The operation was carried out by the SSU Offices in Mykolaiv and Poltava regions jointly with the National Police under the procedural supervision of Mykolaiv Region Prosecutor’s Office.
