SSU and National Police detain six minors who burned AFU vehicles on russia’s orders
The SSU and the National Police have apprehended new arsonists who were acting on orders of russian intelligence services in Odesa region. They are six school students aged 13 to 15 years old, who were looking for ‘easy money’ on Telegram.
On the instructions of the occupiers, their accomplices set fire to cars of Ukrainian military servicemen.
When the minors tried to stop the ‘cooperation’ with the occupiers, the russian services resorted to threats and blackmail.
The perpetrators acted separately. First, they searched for potential targets, and then approved them with their russian handlers and set them on fire using flammable mixtures.
One of the arsonists is a 14-year-old student of an Odesa lyceum. The teenager burned down the car of an Armed Forces soldier and, having not received money for it, tried to cut off communication with the invaders.
The russian special service began blackmailing the student, threatening to leak compromising material to force him to carry out the next task.
Also in Odesa, a 15-year-old boy was apprehended in hot pursuit for burning an AFU off-road vehicle.
In Rozdilnyansky district, another three teenagers aged 13 and 15 were caught setting fire to the car of a State Border Guard Service serviceman.
A 16-year-old girl was detained for setting fire to two military vehicles in Khadzhibey district, Odesa.
During the searches, mobile phones with evidence of sabotage activities were seized from the suspects.
The detainees were notified of suspicion under two Articles of the CCU:
- 114-1.1 (obstruction of lawful activities of the AFU or other military formations, during a special period);
- 194.2 (intentional damage to property by arson).
The suspects face up to 10 years in prison.
The operations were conducted by the SSU Office in Odesa region jointly with the National Police under the procedural supervision of the regional Prosecutor’s Office.
