SSU and National Police detain FSB agents who tried to blow up fuel cistern at Dnipro railway station
The SSU Counterintelligence and the National Police prevented a russia-ordered terrorist attack at Ukrzaliznytsia station in Dnipro.
As a result of the operation, two enemy agents who planted an improvised explosive device on the track where a fuel tank was standing have been apprehended.
The law enforcement neutralized the explosives, which the perpetrators intended to detonate remotely.
They are two drug addicts from Dnipro aged 23 and 36, who lived in a civil marriage.
The couple were looking for money for a dose on Telegram, where they came to the attention of russia’s federal security service.
Following their handler’s instructions, the agents made an explosive device at their home.
For secrecy, they purchased components for the IED online and ordered delivery to different addresses.
The enemy accomplices hoped to receive money for their cooperation with the russian special service, but instead received suspicion notices from the SSU.
The criminal actions of the detained individuals are qualified under Articles 15.2, 258.3 of the CCU (completed attempted terrorist act, committed by a group, upon prior conspiracy).
The suspects are in custody and face up to 12 years in prison with confiscation of property.
The operation was carried out by the SSU Office in Dnipropetrovsk region jointly with the National Police under the procedural supervision of the regional Prosecutor’s Office.
