SSU and National Police detain two groups of arsonists who burned AFU vehicles in Zaporizhzhia and Kropyvnytskyi for russian money
The SSU and the National Police have apprehended another four accomplices of russian intelligence who committed arson attacks in Zaporizhzhia and Kropyvnytskyi.
The enemy’s priority targets were SUVs belonging to the Defense Forces and relay cabinets on Ukrainian railways.
For the arsons, he occupiers remotely recruited two groups, which included three minors.
For money, they first looked for potential targets and then tried to destroy them using flammable mixtures.
The perpetrators filmed each fire, which the russian service wanted to use to spin fakes about the supposed ‘existence of an anti-Ukrainian underground’ in both cities.
In Zaporizhzhia:
two local residents were detained for setting fire to several AFU military pickup trucks that were undergoing maintenance after combat missions at the front.
Later, the agents received a new task from russia – to destroy relay cabinets of Ukrzaliznytsia (Ukrainian railways) signaling installations in order to disrupt the logistics of the Defense Forces in southern Ukraine.
In Kropyvnytskyi:
A 41-year-old former engineer and his stepson were detained for trying to burn two military vehicles, including a minibus used to transport AFU personnel.
The detained individuals have been notified of suspicion under the Articles of the CCU:
- 114-1.1 (obstruction of the lawful activities of the AFU and other military formations, upon prior conspiracy, by a group).
- 194.2 (intentional destruction or damage to property, committed by arson, explosion or other generally dangerous means).
The suspects are in custody and face up to 8 years in prison.
The operations were carried out by the SSU Offices in Zaporizhzhia and Kirovohrad regions jointly with the National Police under the procedural supervision of regional prosecutor’s offices.
