SSU and National Police detain another 5 arsonists who carried out russian orders in three Ukrainian regions

The SSU and the National Police have apprehended another five accomplices of russian intelligence services who committed arson attacks in Kyiv, Vinnytsia and Sumy regions.

To organize the sabotage, the enemy remotely recruited local unemployed people who were looking for easy money on Telegram.

However, instead of money, the perpetrators are facing life imprisonment with confiscation of property.

In Kyiv region:

Two residents of Fastiv, aged 25 and 29, were detained for setting fire to the local Ukrposhta office and Ukrzaliznytsia [Ukrainian railways] facilities.

They filmed the fires on a mobile phone to report to their russian handler and then tried unsuccessfully to escape from the crime scenes.

In Vinnytsia region:

Two arsonists were apprehended in hot pursuit after they burned two relay cabinets of signaling installations regulating traffic on important sections of the railway.

The suspects are two repeat offenders from Hnivan: a 28-year-old woman with a previous conviction for forgery and her 29-year-old acquaintance, who had previously served a sentence for theft.

In Sumy:

A 27-year-old local resident was detained: he set fire to two railway relay cabinets and was preparing further sabotage in the city.

All detained individuals were notified of suspicion under Article 113.2 of the CCU (sabotage, committed under martial law).

The operations were carried out by the SSU Offices in Kyiv and Kyiv region, Vinnytsia and Sumy regions jointly with the National Police under the procedural supervision of regional prosecutor’s offices.
