SSU and National Police detain another eight enemy agents involved in arson attacks on relay cabinets of Ukrainian railways
The Security Service of Ukraine and the National Police apprehended eight enemy accomplices who committed arson attacks in several regions of Ukraine on russia’s orders.
The perpetrators tried to destroy relay cabinets of Ukrzaliznytsia’s signaling installations in Kyiv, Zhytomyr and Mykolaiv oblasts.
The agents were recruited by the aggressor on Telegram channels, where they were looking for ‘easy money’.
In Kyiv region:
An 18-year-old native of Donetsk region was detained. After the start of the full-scale war, the young man moved to the capital, where in 2025 he agreed to work for russia’s federal security service.
On the instructions of the occupiers, he damaged the relay cabinet of a railway traffic light regulating the traffic through Kyiv region.
The arsonist was detained within a day after the attack. So, his first task from the FSB became his last.
In Zhytomyr region:
Another three attackers were apprehended. Two of them are 23-year-old drug addicts who acted in tandem: one set fire to the railway equipment, while his girlfriend recorded the crime.
The other suspect is a 20-year-old deserter-contract serviceman who burned down a relay cabinet of a signaling system.
In Mykolaiv region:
Arsonist brothers aged 16 and 14 were detained in hot pursuit; they had involved two of their friends in the sabotage.
Together, they tried to destroy four relay cabinets that ensure the safe movement of trains, including towards the southern front.
The arsonists have been notified of suspicion under the Articles 28.2 and 113.2 of the CCU (sabotage, committed under martial law).
The suspects are in custody and face life imprisonment with confiscation of property.
The operations were carried out by the SSU’s regional offices jointly with the National Police under the procedural supervision of regional prosecutors.
