SSU and National Police detain another eight arsonists who acted on russia’s orders in several regions of Ukraine
The Security Service of Ukraine and the National Police have apprehended another eight arsonists who, on the orders of russian special services, set fire to facilities on Ukrainian railways, military vehicles and administrative buildings in three regions of Ukraine.
The perpetrators are local residents recruited by the enemy through Telegram channels offering ‘easy money’.
However, instead of promised payments from russia, they received suspicion notices from Ukrainian law enforcement and the prospect of imprisonment.
In Kharkiv region, four minors aged 14 to 16 were detained who acted as part of two groups.
The first group set fire to a railway relay cabinet and an Armed Forces vehicle that was undergoing a technical inspection after missions on the eastern front.
The second group smashed a window in a local village council, poured flammable mixture on the windowsill and set it on fire.
Another three arsonists were detained in Odesa oblast. They were a 39-year-old recidivist thief and two of his unemployed acquaintances.
They set fire to three relay cabinets on a railway line and were preparing for their next task – to derail an Armed Forces train.
Another enemy agent was caught in Vinnytsia region for setting fire to power equipment that ensures the smooth running of Ukrzaliznytsia trains. The man walked tens of kilometers to cover his tracks.
The detainees have been notified of suspicion, in accordance with the actions each of them committed, under the Articles of the CCU:
- 113.2 (sabotage, committed under martial law);
- 15.2, 113.2 (completed attempt to commit sabotage, under martial law);
- 114-1.1 (obstruction of lawful activities of the AFU and other military formations, during a special period);
- 194.2 (intentional destruction of property by arson, committed by a group).
The operations were conducted by the SSU Offices in Kharkiv, Odesa and Vinnytsia regions jointly with the National Police under the procedural supervision of the regional prosecutor’s offices.
