SSU and National Police detain three russian accomplices who burned military vehicles close to frontline in Donetsk region

In Donetsk oblast, the SSU and the National Police have apprehended another three russian agents who burned vehicles belonging to the Defence Forces.

These are three residents of Sloviansk. Two of them, aged 17 and 18, acted as a group, and the third, a repeat offender with a conviction for theft, carried out arsons on his own.

All of them were looking for easy money on Telegram channels, where they were recruited by the russian intelligence services.

For money, they began to carry out russian orders to burn military vehicles in the frontline city.

The enemy targeted SUVs and vans of Ukrainian defenders involved in combat operations at the frontline.

The perpetrators first tracked down potential targets and then burned them using flammable mixtures.

To report to their handlers, they filmed the fires on their phones.

The arsonists set fire to two military vehicles and then prepared to destroy relay cabinets on local railway lines.

In this way, russia hoped to disrupt logistics of the Defence Forces on the eastern front.

The law enforcement agencies detained all three offenders.

During the searches of their homes, flammable mixtures and mobile phones with evidence of sabotage were seized.

SSU investigators notified them of suspicion under Articles 28.2, 114-1.2 of the CCU (obstruction of lawful activities of the AFU and other military formations, committed by a group, upon prior conspiracy).

The suspects are in custody and face up to 8 years in prison.

The operation was carried out by the SSU Office in Donetsk and Luhansk regions jointly with the National Police under the procedural supervision of Donetsk Region Prosecutor’s Office.
