SSU and National Police detain another four arsonists who carried out orders of russian intelligence in Kyiv
The Security Service of Ukraine and the National Police have apprehended two groups of arsonists working for russian special services in Kyiv. They set fire to military vehicles and relay cabinets of Ukrainian railways.
The perpetrators are four young men who were looking for ‘easy money’ on Telegram, where they were later recruited by the enemy.
However, instead of the promised payments, they received notices of suspicion and are facing life imprisonment with confiscation of property for their crimes.
In Dniprovskyi district of Kyiv, two young men, aged 17 and 19, were detained in hot pursuit of setting fire to an Armed Forces pickup truck.
The vehicle was undergoing maintenance after combat missions at the front and was soon to return to the frontline.
Another two agents were detained in Sviatoshynskyi district of Kyiv. They are a 20-year-old resident of Kyiv and a 26-year-old IDP from Luhansk, who met while looking for ‘quick’ money.
According to the investigation, these individuals burned five SUVs of the Armed Forces and the National Guard, as well as a relay cabinet of Ukrzaliznytsia.
First, they recorded the locations of potential targets, approved those with their russian handler, and then carried out arson attacks.
The detainees were notified of suspicion in accordance with the actions each of them committed under the Articles of the CCU:
- 28.2, 113.2 (sabotage, committed upon prior conspiracy, by a group, under martial law);
- 28.2, 114-1.1 (obstruction of the lawful activities of the AFU, during a special period, committed by a group, upon prior conspiracy);
- 28.2, 194.2 (intentional damage to property by arson, committed by a group).
The suspects are in custody. The investigation is ongoing.
The operations were conducted by the SSU Office in Kyiv and Kyiv region jointly with the National Police under the procedural supervision of Kyiv City Prosecutor’s Office.
