SSU and Prosecutor’s Office arrest provocateur who mocked and abused fallen Heroes on Maidan Nezalezhnosti

The SSU has collected evidence on a pro-russian agitator who justified russian war crimes and wished for a capture of Kyiv and ‘accession’ of Ukraine to russia.

The man worked as a music teacher in Kyiv; he is also an ideological supporter of the kremlin regime who recorded provocative videos and published pro-russian fakes.

The SSU and the National Police detained him in hot pursuit after he posted a video filmed near the place of honoring the fallen Heroes on the Independence Square.

In this video, he defames the honor of the fallen soldiers and humiliates active Ukrainian servicemen.

During the investigation, the SSU found that he had created two Telegram channels in which he glorified ruscists and spread disinformation about the Defense Forces.

The SSU-initiated linguistic examination has confirmed his criminal activity against our state.

SSU investigators have served the perpetrator a notice of suspicion under Article 436-2.1, 436-2.3 of the CCU (justification, recognition as legitimate, denial of russia’s armed aggression against Ukraine, glorification of its participants).

Today, at the request of the Prosecutor General’s Office, the court chose custody without bail as a measure of restraint against the suspect. He faces up to 8 years in prison.

The operation was carried out under the procedural supervision of the Prosecutor General’s Office.
