The Security Service of Ukraine and the Office of the Prosecutor General have collected evidence against another two russian war criminals involved in the shelling of Ukraine’s critical infrastructure.

One of the crimes of these russian commanders that has been documented is the targeted air attack on the Prydniprovska Thermal Power Plant in October 2022.

According to the investigation, the enemy struck the power station with two Kalibr cruise missiles launched from the frigate Admiral Makarov in the Black Sea.

It has been established that the strike on critical infrastructure was commanded by:

• captain 1st rank Oleg Knyazev, former chief of staff and first deputy commander of the 30th division of surface ships of russia’s black sea fleet;
• captain 2nd rank Sergey Romanenko, former commander of the frigate Admiral Makarov of the 30th division of surface ships of russia’s black sea fleet.

Investigators of the SSU’s Main Investigative Directorate have notified Knyazev and Romanenko of suspicion in absentia under Article 438.1 of the CCU – war crimes.

Efforts to bring them to justice are ongoing.

The investigation was conducted under the procedural supervision of the Office of the Prosecutor General.
