SSU and Prosecutor General’s Office Serve russian businessman with in absentia notice of suspicion over financing russian military: he holds UAH 1.5 billion in assets in Ukraine
The SSU has gathered evidence against sanctioned russian businessman Yurii Vasin, who is financing the russian’s armed aggression against Ukraine.
According to the case file, following the full-scale invasion, Vasin temporarily transferred ownership of his Ukrainian businesses to trusted proxies in order to conceal his assets, while continuing to exercise control over their financial and operational activities..
The assets include 40 real estate properties, including a chain of 17 hotels and resort complexes across various regions of Ukraine, with a total value exceeding UAH 1.5 billion.
The investigation also established that commercial entities controlled by Vasin in russia actively cooperate with the aggressor country's military-industrial complex and state paramilitary structures.
A motion has now been filed in court to seize the businessman's assets in Ukraine for subsequent nationalization.
During searches conducted at the homes and offices of Vasin’s senior executives in Kyiv, Vinnytsia, and Lviv, investigators seized accounting records, rough notes, smartphones, and computers containing evidence of illegal activity.
Based on the evidence collected, SSU investigators served Vasin with an in absentia notice of suspicion under Article 110-2.3 of the CCU (financing actions aimed at changing Ukraine’s territorial boundaries and state border in violation of the procedure established by the Constitution of Ukraine, committed repeatedly and for financial gain).
As the suspect is currently outside Ukraine, comprehensive measures are underway to bring him to justice for crimes committed against our state.
The investigation was conducted by SSU officers in Vinnytsia region under the procedural supervision of the regional Prosecutor's Office.
