SSU strikes another Tu-95MS strategic bomber at Engels military airfield
The Security Service of Ukraine has carried out another successful special operation, hitting a Tu-95MS strategic bomber at the Engels military airfield in the Saratov region, russia. The SSU’s long-range drones travelled approximately 800 kilometres to reach the target.
According to preliminary information, in addition to the aircraft, an ammunition depot and a petroleum, oil and lubricants depot were also struck.
This is now the second strategic bomber struck by the SSU in recent months. During the 17 July attack, another Tu-95MS sustained critical damage — its tail section was completely torn off.
The SSU continues to methodically strike key targets within russia’s military machine. The hits on the enemy’s strategic aviation mean fewer missile carriers capable of attacking Ukraine. For the aggressor state, this also represents losses running into millions and further proof that even the most remote military targets are within reach of Ukrainian forces.
