SSU strikes two oil pumping stations supplying fuel to moscow
Carrying out the tasks set by the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, the SSU Special Operations Centre Alfa struck the Vtorovo and Lobkovo oil pumping stations in the Vladimir oblast of russia. The distance to the targets is approximately 700 km.
The main purpose of the stations is to pump diesel fuel to the moscow ring oil pipeline, as well as to transport petroleum products for export to ports on the Baltic Sea. In particular, via the oil-loading port of Primorsk.
The local authorities have confirmed fires at the two infrastructure sites following strikes by SSU drones. According to NASA’s FIRMS service, thermal anomalies indicative of fires have been recorded in the areas where both oil pumping stations are located.
The destruction of such facilities is of strategic importance, as they are vital links in russia’s fuel logistics chain. Disruptions to the operation of oil pumping stations complicate the supply of fuel to industrial centres and military infrastructure, and also have a negative impact on the export of petroleum products. Each such strike degrades the aggressor state’s resource capabilities and cuts the revenue that the kremlin spends on war against Ukraine.
