SSU strikes strategic russian Yaroslavl-3 oil pumping station and Temryuk port gas terminal
Fulfilling the tasks set by the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, the SSU’s Alfa Special Operations Centre has hit the Yaroslavl-3 oil pumping station, which has its tank farm, in the Yaroslavl region, russia, as well as the gas terminal at the port of Temryuk in the Krasnodar krai.
The Yaroslavl-3 oil pumping station forms part of the main Baltic Pipeline System (BTS-1), supplying raw materials to the nearby Slavneft-YANOS oil refinery and the export terminals at Primorsk port. Following the drone attack, three crude oil storage tanks caught fire. The fire is covering an area of over 5,000 square metres.
As a result of the strikes on the Temryuk gas terminal, a fire broke out at Maktren-Nafta LLC. In particular, the gas pipeline and buildings on the pier are on fire. This facility is used for transshipping liquefied gas from railcars and tank containers to specialised gas carriers.
Such special operations by the Security Service of Ukraine are of strategic importance as they reduce russia’s oil exports, which are the main source of revenue for the russian budget. Each pumping station that is put out of action, each pipeline or refinery that is shut down represents millions of dollars that will not reach the kremlin’s budget and will not be converted into missiles, drones and shells. By striking russia’s energy infrastructure, Ukraine is bringing the war back to russia and forcing the adversary to pay a real price for its aggression.
