SSU identifies 4 ruscists who beat civilians with sticks and brought them to execution during occupation of Kyiv region
The SSU has identified another four russian occupiers who committed war crimes against civilians during the occupation of Kyiv oblast.
These are:
- major Alexander Vasiliev - assistant commander of the 15th separate motorized rifle brigade of the russian armed forces;
- major Aleksey Bulgakov - commander of a motorized rifle company of the same military unit;
- junior lieutenant Georgiy Radnatarov - commander of a reconnaissance company of the 37th separate motorized rifle brigade of the aggressor state;
- private Dugar Shozhoev - serviceman of russia’s 5th separate tank brigade.
In February-March 2022, they took part in capturing settlements in Brovary and Bucha districts and carried out mass repressions against local population.
At that time, they massively abducted people and imprisoned them in torture chambers.
According to the investigation, during one of such ‘raids’ in Bohdanivka village, Bulgakov and Vasiliev ordered private Shozhoev to take a local resident out of his house for interrogation.
The occupiers then took the man to a torture chamber set up in a seized school.
In the jail, they beat the victim, put out cigarette butts on his body and threatened to kill him.
The ruscists were trying to force the man to confess that he had been involved in the resistance movement in the region.
Having not received the ‘necessary answers’, Bulgakov and Vasiliev ordered Shozhoev to continue torturing the man, ordering 10 strikes with a stick for the victim.
Another enemy serviceman, Radnatarov, caught a resident of Bucha in March 2022, tied his hands and put a bag over his head.
After that, the ruscist put the victim against a wall and put a gun to the back of his head, simulating an execution.
He then removed the bag from the man’s head and began to threaten him with an axe and a knife.
In case of refusal to cooperate with the occupiers, Radnatarov threatened that he would cut off the man’s leg or slit his throat.
However, the ruscist did not break the Ukrainian and failed to force him to help the invaders. After the torture, he left the wounded man in the middle of the street.
The SSU has notified Vasilyev, Bulgakov and Shozhoev of suspicion in absentia under Articles 28.1, 438.2 of the CCU (ordering the commission of cruel treatment of civilians and other violations of laws and customs of war, upon prior conspiracy, by a group of persons; cruel treatment of civilians).
Radnatarov was notified of suspicion in absentia under Article 438.1 of the CCU (cruel treatment of civilians).
Efforts are underway to bring the perpetrators to justice.
The investigation was carried out by the SSU Office in Kyiv and Kyiv region under the procedural supervision of Kyiv Region Prosecutor’s Office.
