SSU: Motor Sich president blocked delivery of combat helicopter to Ukraine’s Defence Intelligence in April 2022

The SSU Counterintelligence and investigators have uncovered new facts of criminal activity of the President of Motor Sich JSC, who is suspected of working for the enemy.

The investigation ascertained the involvement of the head of the company in obstructing legitimate activities of Ukraine’s Defence Forces.

According to the investigation, in April 2022 he received an order from the Defence Intelligence of the MoD of Ukraine to transfer an MI-2 helicopter to the agency on a paid basis to perform combat missions at the front.

However, the head of the industrial giant deliberately blocked the fulfillment of this state order.

To do this, he instructed his subordinates to disassemble the aircraft into parts and hide its operational documentation.

Following the order of the company head, the employees removed the blades and disabled the helicopter’s mechanisms responsible for the operation of the main rotor.

The President of Motor Sich JSC has now been served one more notice of suspicion under Articles 27.3, 28.2, 114-1.1 the CCU (obstruction of lawful activities of the AFU and other military formations during a special period, committed by a group of persons upon prior conspiracy).

The pre-trial investigation is ongoing to establish all the circumstances of the crime and bring the offenders to justice.

In October 2022, the SSU detained suspect and the chief of the company’s Foreign Economic Activity Department.

The SSU Main Investigation Directorate and the SSU Counterintelligence Department exposed the offence under the procedural supervision of the Prosecutor General’s Office.
