SSU uncovers USD 300,000 during searches at district military medical commission head’s home in Dnipropetrovsk region

The Security Service has dismantled a large-scale mobilisation evasion scheme in Dnipropetrovsk region. During the searches at the home of the Head of the Military Medical Commission at the local Territorial Recruitment Centre, over USD 300,000 was found.

The investigation established that the official was one of the organizers of the scheme. For bribes, she and her accomplices prepared fictitious medical certificates for conscripts, which helped them dodge military service.

The cost of such ‘services’ started at USD 2,500.

An employee of the Territorial Recruitment Centre, who acted jointly with a 58-year-old resident of the region, was seeking ‘clients’ and updating their military registration documents.

The SSU documented over 20 episodes of bribes being given to the organizers of the scheme.

The head of the local MMC and one of her accomplices have been declared suspects under several Articles of the CCU:

  • 28.2, 114-1.1, 368.1, 368.3 (obstruction of the AFU’s lawful activities, acceptance of a proposal, promise, or receipt of unlawful benefits by an official, committed upon prior conspiracy, by a group);
  • 28.2, 114-1.1, 369-2.1, 369-2.2 (obstruction of the AFU’s lawful activities, abuse of influence, committed by a group, upon prior conspiracy).

The suspects face up to 10 years in prison with confiscation of property.

The operation was carried out by the SSU Office in Dnipropetrovsk region under the procedural supervision of Dnipropetrovsk Specialised Defence Prosecutor’s Office of the Eastern region.
