SBU exposes militants’ caches

In Luhansk region, the SBU found two militants’ caches with weapons. In particular, SBU officers seized 15 long-range artillery shells, each of which contained 16 kilos of hexogen (high-power explosive).

The caches were set up in a forest near the village of Ternove.

From another cache, which was arranged in the former dugout near the settlement of Plotyna, the SBU seized:

  • over 20 artillery shells of various calibers;
  • two detonators;
  • three F-1 grenades;
  • VOG-17 grenade;
  • more than 400 rounds for large-caliber KPV heavy machine gun.

According to the intelligence, the militants arranged the caches during the armed resistance to ATO forces in 2014.

The investigation is ongoing to identify and prosecute those involved in the illegal activities.

The operation was carried out in cooperation with the National Police and the pyrotechnic unit of the State Emergency Service.
