SSU uses Sea Baby maritime drones as multi-purpose platform and prepares new surprises for enemy – Vasyl Maliuk
The Security Service of Ukraine is using Sea Baby maritime drones as a multi-purpose platform and is preparing new surprises for the aggressor in 2024.
The SSU Head Vasyl Maliuk announced this during Ukraine. Year 2024 forum.
‘Today, the SSU is working in the air, at sea, on the front and behind enemy lines - in the temporarily occupied territories and deep inside russia. We have designed several interesting new products, namely 2 surface drones. One of them, Sea Baby, is our flagship, a multi-purpose platform. We are using it not only in a kamikaze mode, but also for remote mining and other purposes. However, I will not get ahead of myself and reveal our plans to the enemy,’ Vasyl Maliuk said.
He reminded that SSU’s maritime drones had already hit 11 ships of russia’s Black Sea fleet. Some of them are irretrievably damaged, while others may take a long time to be repaired.
Vasyl Maliuk also noted that the Crimean bridge, which was hit twice by the SSU, has not yet been fully restored by the enemy, and is not used for military logistics and movement of weapons.
With air drones, the SSU divided its operations into several zones, starting from the front line and extending more than 120 km into russian territory.
516 enemy tanks, Triumf air defence systems, oil refineries, other military facilities and enterprises supplying russian military-industrial complex are among the SSU’s trophies.
‘These are completely legitimate targets for us,’ Vasyl Maliuk stressed.
Over the last year, the SSU dismantled 47 enemy agent networks, the largest of which operated in Mykolaiv oblast.
The SSU also counters the attempts to technically infiltrate Ukraine’s defence forces. The Service has detected over a thousand such penetrations, for which the enemy used 7 types of malicious software – so called backdoors.
Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, the SSU has served suspicion notices to over 2,000 traitors and almost 5,000 collaborators, aggressor’s accomplices and spotters. Efforts are also underway to clear the church environment from russian influence. To date, courts have handed down 22 guilty verdicts against clergymen.
‘The SSU has been and will be a scalpel in the hands of the Ukrainian nation, which will cut out these shameful phenomena as cancerous tumours,’ Vasyl Maliuk summed up.
He called on Ukrainians to unite to achieve our common goal - the Victory of Ukraine.
