SSU exposes 9 enemy henchmen and finds russian weapon cache during stabilization efforts in Lyman (video)

The SSU continues large-scale stabilization efforts in the de-occupied territories of Donetsk region.

In the frontline Lyman, the SSU detained 9 local residents who voluntarily collaborated with the enemy.

Among them is a 38-year-old resident who was passing information to ruscists on locations of the Defence Forces and their movements in the area.

He communicated with the aggressor through the social network Odnoklassniki, which is banned in Ukraine.

The former commander of guard of the Lyman Center for Citizen Safety was also detained.

In July 2022, he agreed to head the local ‘fire and rescue unit of the DNR ministry of emergency’ established by the invaders.

Three other exposed collaborators joined the occupation administration after Lyman was captured.

Two of them were appointed to ‘positions’ in the ‘department of internal policy and media relations’ and the ‘department of land relations’, and another became a ‘security guard of the town council’.

The collaborators have been served a notice of suspicion under Article 111-1 of the CCU.

Another four offenders spread calls in support of the occupiers on banned social networks, as well as posts justifying ruscists’ war crimes.

In addition, SSU officers found a cache with russian weapons and ammunition.

The site was set up in an abandoned private building and contained:

  • Dzhmil rocket-propelled infantry flamethrower;
  • F-1 and RDG-2 grenades;
  • fuses for combat grenades;
  • 20 fuses;
  • 30-mm reactive signal flare;
  • ground signal flare;
  • 150 rounds for small arms.

Investigations are ongoing to establish all the circumstances of the offences and bring perpetrators to justice.

The stabilization efforts were conducted by the SSU jointly with the National Police, the Military Law Enforcement Service and the State Border Guard Service.
