SSU exposes agents of russian GRU who adjusted missile strikes on Zaporizhzhia (video)
As a result of a multi-stage special operation in Zaporizhzhia region, the SSU neutralized a group of agents of the Main Directorate of the General Staff of russian armed forces (aka GRU), who were collecting intelligence on deployment and movement of Ukrainian Defence Forces.
The investigation established that the organizer is a woman, resident of the temporarily occupied Melitopol, recruited by the GRU to carry out subversive activities.
According to the investigation, her husband is serving in russian occupation forces, directly participating in combat operations against Ukrainian military on the southern front.
To collect intelligence, the woman involved her father-in-law, who lived in Zaporizhzhia. He was supposed to carry out surveillance of movement of Ukrainian troops and take photographs of the personnel and equipment.
For communication, they used secure electronic communication channels.
The traitor passed the information she received from her relative to the occupiers for planning and preparing missile strikes and artillery shelling of the city.
If tasks were completed successfully, the aggressors promised the ‘organizer’ a leadership ‘position’ in the occupation administration, and her husband - to be transferred from the front to the rear.
The SSU detained the member of the group from Zaporizhzhia when he tried to pass classified information to the invaders.
The detainee has been notified of suspicion; the indictment has been sent to court.
The organizer of the group was, in absentia, notified of suspicion of treason under martial law, committed by a group of persons upon prior conspiracy.
The investigation is ongoing, efforts are underway to bring the traitor to justice.
The SSU Office in Zaporizhzhia region carried out the operation under the procedural supervision of Zaporizhzhia Region Prosecutor’s Office.
