SSU dismantles agent group of FSB military counterintelligence that adjusted russian strikes on Donetsk region
The SSU has detained another two FSB agents in Donetsk region. They were adjusting russian strikes on Ukrainian troops holding defence on Kramatorsk and Novopavlivka directions.
The investigation established that the enemy accomplices were two local residents: a 41-year-old nurse and a 56-year-old driver of a private company.
The agents acted separately from each other but were in contact with the same handler – an officer of the FSB military counterintelligence.
On his instructions, the traitors travelled around the area and covertly recorded the locations of fortifications and combat positions of Ukrainian artillery, which fires at the enemy assault groups.
They also provided the occupiers with information on the routes of the Defence Forces armoured vehicles towards the frontline.
The agents were identified at an early stage, their sabotage activities were documented and they were apprehended.
The SSU also took action to protect the positions of the Defence Forces on both directions of the eastern front.
The agents were recruited remotely by the russian special service through their acquaintance, a former resident of Kramatorsk, who moved to russia in 2022.
There, she was recruited by the FSB and was instructed to form an intelligence network in the frontline city.
SSU investigators have now notified the detainees of suspicion under Article 111.2 of the CCU (high treason, committed under martial law).
The suspects are in custody and face life imprisonment with confiscation of property.
Efforts are underway to bring to justice their acquaintance from russia, who is cooperating with the FSB.
The operation was carried out by the SSU Office in Donetsk and Luhansk regions under the procedural supervision of Donetsk Region Prosecutor’s Office.
