SSU exposes DNR militant who, after three-year break, wanted to fight against Ukraine again (video)

The SSU exposed a militant of the so-called ‘DNR people’s militia’ who shelled Ukrainian positions. Though the individual left the terrorists’ ranks in 2019, a short time ago he expressed a desire to go back to ‘service’ to commit sabotage against the JFO.

The SSU investigators identified the militant, as well as intercepted telephone conversation with his handler, who offered the terrorist a ‘new contract’.

According to the investigation, the suspect served in the so-called ‘9th company of the 3rd motorized rifle battalion of the 7th separate motorized rifle brigade of the 1st army corps of the DNR people’s militia’. There, he underwent special combat training and got the call sign Gryphon.

As a member of the IAF, he took part in hostilities against the Armed Forces of Ukraine using firearms of various calibers and purposes.

The SSU has collected irrefutable evidence that in 2018-2019 the militant participated in armed resistance to the ATO/JFO forces: in the battles in Lozovo, Kalynivka, at the Svitlodarsk Bulge, etc.

In addition, it was established that Gryphon was willing to resume service in the so-called DNR to carry out sabotage and reconnaissance activities against Ukraine.

The militant has been notified of suspicion in absentia of the crime under Article 258-3.1 (participation in a terrorist group or terrorist organization) of the CCU and has been declared wanted.

The SSU Office in Cherkasy region is carrying out pre-trial investigation under the supervision of Cherkasy Region Prosecutor’s Office.
