SSU exposes regional council member and three accomplices collaborating with ruscists in temporarily occupied left bank of Kherson region
The Security Service of Ukraine has exposed four russian collaborators who worked with the enemy and conducted business in the temporarily occupied territory of the Kakhovka district on the left bank of the Kherson region.
Among those implicated are a deputy of the Kherson Regional Council and three local entrepreneurs – a married couple, who are heads of agricultural enterprises, and the director of one of them.
The deputy owns two Ukrainian enterprises in the area of transport maintenance and grain cultivation.
During the occupation, he re-registered them under russian legislation and continued to operate under the russian administration’s control, paying taxes to their budget.
In addition, acting in collusion with the three other suspects, he was responsible for the operations of their agricultural enterprises in the Kakhovka district.
Specifically, he obtained permits from the occupation administration to cultivate land, organised fuel supplies, and hired workers. He also handled vehicle and agricultural equipment registrations with the russian authorities and oversaw the submission of reports to the occupation authorities.
In turn, the couple who owned the agribusiness and their director oversaw the companies’ operations and submitted applications to the occupying ‘ministry of agrarian policy, food industry, and fisheries of the Kherson Region’ to receive over 5 million rubles in subsidies from the russian authorities.
This year, the deputy, confident of his own impunity, left the temporarily occupied territory of the Kherson region for the city of Odesa, where he was apprehended by the SSU.
SSU investigators have notified the detainee of suspicion under Article 27.5, 28.2, 111-1.4 of the CCU. The suspect is in custody.
Three of his accomplices are hiding from justice on the temporarily occupied left bank of the Kherson region. They have been declared suspects in absentia, under Articles 27.5, 28.2, 111-1.4 of the CCU.
Efforts to bring the aggressor’s accomplices to justice for crimes against Ukraine are underway.
The documentation of the crimes was carried out by the SSU Kherson Office under the procedural supervision of the regional Prosecutor’s Office.
