The Security Service of Ukraine exposed the head of the Territorial Division of the State Judicial Administration in Kherson region on embezzling budget funds. Allegedly, he organized an illegal mechanism for procuring goods at significantly inflated prices using public funds. The suspect benefited up to 50% from a contract.

The SBU documented the unlawful activity of the top official, in particular, embezzlement of public funds during the conclusion of nine contracts for procurement of computer equipment below the tender threshold value.

In fact, the official violated the public procurement procedure and entered into a contract with a sole proprietor. He signed contracts for the supply of equipment worth UAH 1.7 m. (USD 63.000), UAH 0.7 m. (USD 26.000) of which he managed to appropriate.

The official was served a notice of suspicion of misappropriation, embezzlement or conversion of property by malversation.

The operation was carried out by officers of the SBU Main Office in the AR of Crimea together with the National police investigators, under the supervision of Kherson Region Prosecutor's Office.
