Former leadership of State Service on Food Safety and Consumer Protection exposed on misappropriation of millions in purchase of vaccines

The SSU has exposed former leadership of the State Service for Food Safety and Consumer Protection on unjustified spending of budget money. In the operation, the SSU uncovered state procurement of veterinary vaccines not registered in Ukraine.

This illegal activity caused almost UAH 30 m (USD 1.1 m) in state losses.

The officials together with representatives of a biofactory imported uncertified veterinary drugs bypassing the established import procedures.

One of the organizers of the scheme has been notified of suspicion. The court is to decide on the measure of restraint.

The investigation is ongoing to establish all the circumstances of illegal activity and bring the involved to justice.

The SSU Main Directorate for CI Protection of Economic Security carried out the operation with the National Police under the supervision of Podilskyi District Prosecutor’s Office.
