SSU exposes Yanukovych era minister of education on cooperation with FSB and Kadyrov’s associate

The SSU has uncovered new facts of criminal activity of former minister of education and science Dmytro Tabachnyk, who is suspected of high treason.

The investigation established that he is in direct ‘communication’ with Oleg Kozlov, an officer of the 9th Directorate of the Operational Information Department of the FSB’s 5th Service.

After the start of the full-scale invasion, the traitor coordinated his subversive activities against Ukraine with this employee of the russian special service.

Tabachnyk took an active part in organizing sham referenda in the occupied districts of Kherson and Zaporizhzhia oblasts.

The suspect also directly fulfilled moscow’s orders to ‘reformat’ the educational and medical sectors for the benefit of the aggressor state.

Under his coordination, most of the region’s educational institutions and hospitals were converted into barracks for russian occupation troops.

Tabachnyk took these ‘actions’ together with the gauleiters Saldo and Balytskyi.

For former minister to have a ‘status’, last autumn he was appointed an ‘adviser’ to the head of the occupation administration in the temporarily captured part of Zaporizhzhia oblsat.

Tabachnyk was also included in the local branch of the kremlin’s united russia party.

In addition, SSU investigators ascertained facts of the suspect’s participation in looting of Melitopol residents’ property.

In April 2022, together with Murad Saidov, the so-called ‘supervisor’ of the region on Kadyrov’s behalf, they organized smuggling of agricultural equipment from warehouses of a local agricultural holding to the Crimea.

Based on the collected evidence, Tabachnyk was additionally declared suspect under two articles of the CCU:

  • 111-2 (aiding the aggressor state);
  • 438 (violation of laws and customs of war).

Last November, the SSU notified him of suspicion under 111.2 of the CCU (high treason committed under martial law).

Subsequently, the SSU seized the suspect’s property worth over USD 2 mln.

The investigation was carried out by the SSU Office in Vinnytsia region under the procedural supervision of the regional Prosecutor’s Office.
