The Security Service of Ukraine exposed the illegal scheme of land use of state-owned enterprises of the Ministry of Justice. According to preliminary estimates, the state budget suffered losses of almost UAH 24 m (USD 860,000).

The officials illegally used land to grow crops.

The SBU established that the head of the state enterprise had signed agreements with a company for provision of agricultural works and services. For the work performed, the state-owned enterprise leadership decided to sell the entire harvest to the businessperson. The officials significantly underestimated the price and sold grain at a much lower cost.

The SBU-initiated examination proved the illegal mechanism.

The head of the state enterprise received the suspicion notice of committing a criminal offense.

The pre-trial investigation is ongoing.

The operation was carried out by officers of the SBU Main Department for Combating Corruption and Organized Crime together with investigators of the Main Investigation Department of the National Police, State Tax Service and Ministry of Justice, under the supervision of the Prosecutor General's Office.
