The SSU jointly with the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine uncovered a corruption scheme in the State Tax Service. According to the investigation, the officials covered up fraudsters who underpaid taxes and helped fictitious entities.

The SSU and NABU conducted multiple searches throughout Ukraine: in the State Tax Service, its regional divisions and at suspects’ homes.

The investigators seized documents with the evidence confirming the illegal scheme, in particular the suspects’ assistance in minimizing the taxes and removing fictitious enterprises from risk category.

Within the criminal proceeding, the investigation into abuse of office is underway.

The SSU Main Directorate for Combating Corruption and Organized Crime and NABU investigators carried out the operation under the supervision of the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office.
