SSU exposes FSB spotter helping ruscists shell Kramatorsk
The SSU Counterintelligence has detained another agent of russia’s federal security service in Donetsk region. The perpetrator was adjusting enemy airstrikes on Kramatorsk.
The spotter was tracking the locations of Defence Forces personnel and equipment, which the enemy planned to strike with various types of weapons, including 1.5-ton FAB-1500 aerial bombs with a winged module.
One more task of the agent was to identify and transmit to the FSB the coordinates of potential targets – logistics depots containing weapons, ammunition, and supplies for Ukrainian troops.
The SSU documented the suspect’s intelligence gathering and detained him.
According to the investigation, the FSB’s orders were carried out by a local unemployed man. He came to the occupiers’ attention in Telegram chat rooms where he was seeking ‘easy money’ in October 2025.
To gather intelligence, the individual surveyed the area, and upon identifying military facilities, marked their geolocations on Google Maps and saved the screenshots on his personal smartphone.
He also covertly elicited information about Donetsk region defenders from his acquaintances during casual conversations.
A mobile phone containing evidence of working for the aggressor state was seized during the search of the suspect’s home.
SSU investigators notified the detainee of suspicion under Article 111.2 of the CCU – high treason committed under martial law.
The spotter faces life imprisonment with confiscation of property.
The operation was carried out by the SSU Office in Donetsk and Luhansk regions under the procedural supervision of Donetsk Region Prosecutor’s Office.
