SSU exposes FSB mole in State Space Agency and detains him during Strategic Industry Ministry meeting
The Security Service of Ukraine, with the assistance of the Minister for Strategic Industries, uncovered another high-ranking russian mole in Ukrainian government. The enemy agent was an official of the State Space Agency and had classified information about national strategic enterprises and access to secret satellite images.
The SSU Counterintelligence and investigators detained the spy during a meeting at the Ministry of Strategic Industries of Ukraine.
According to the investigation, russia’s federal security service recruited this agent in 2024. Since then, the SSU has been documenting his steps and interaction with the aggressor state.
The Service also used this mole to disinform the enemy, passing information favourable to Ukraine.
The agent was recruited by the FSB through his wife, who lives in Rostov-on-Don and collaborates with the occupiers. He agreed to cooperate with the enemy in exchange for money. After his supposed retirement in the summer of 2025, he planned to move to russia.
The FSB tasked the mole to collect and transmit classified information that he possessed by virtue of his official duties. This included data on the locations of military-industrial complex facilities that manufacture navigation systems, backup points for strategic enterprises, military depots, as well as information on Ukraine’s production of precision munitions and satellite images.
The russians hoped to use this data for air strikes on strategically important facilities in Ukraine.
During the search, the SSU seized a mobile phone with anonymous chats in messenger apps and e-mail, which the traitor used to communicate with the FSB.
Based on the evidence collected, SSU investigators served the detainee a notice of suspicion under Article 111.2 of the CCU (high treason, committed under martial law).
The court is to decide on custody as a measure of restraint. The suspect faces life imprisonment with confiscation of property.
The operation was carried out under the procedural supervision of the Prosecutor General’s Office.
