The SSU has exposed large scale losses of budget funds allocated from the State Regional Development Fund for reconstruction of infrastructure facilities in Poltava region.

According to the investigation, officials of one of the united territorial communities concluded a contract for the repair and construction of a sports complex. The total value of the contract was UAH 37 m (USD 1,4 m).

When the work was partially carried out, the contractor prepared completion certificates and included the equipment and goods that actually were not supplied. The community officials accepted these certificates and paid in full.

The examination confirmed overstating the cost of repair and construction services and estimated the losses to be over UAH 2 million (USD 77,000).

The head of the community was notified of suspicion of official negligence. Pre-trial investigation is underway.

The SSU conducted the operation under the supervision of Poltava Region Prosecutor’s Office.
