SSU exposes corruption of entire leadership of military medical commission in Odesa region: suspicion notices also served to draft evaders
In Odesa oblast, the SSU Main Directorate for Internal Security jointly with the National Police have shut down a large-scale mobilization evasion scheme.
As a result of the operation, the SSU exposed all the leadership of one of the district military medical commissions, who acted in a criminal group.
For financial rewards, the officials ‘helped’ persons liable for military service to evade mobilization using fictitious documents on unfitness for service.
To do this, the commission members sold to their ‘clients’ fake medical reports with ‘severe diagnoses’.
During one day, the organizers of the scheme could ‘issue’ over 20 counterfeit medical certificates.
For evaders from other regions, they ‘issued’ fictitious documents of internally displaced persons and then ‘helped’ evade mobilization.
The price for ‘services’ ranged from USD 7,000 to 10,000.
Men of call-up age used the counterfeit documents to deregister and leave Ukraine.
Based on the collected evidence, the chairman and two secretaries of the commission have been notified of suspicion under the Articles of the CCU: 27.5, 28.2, 32.1, 336.1; 28.2, 32.1, 366.1 (official forgery committed upon prior conspiracy).
The law enforcement also identified 5 men who tried to use the scheme to evade mobilization and illegally travel abroad. They were served suspicion notices under Article 336 of the CCU (conscription evasion).
The court is to decide on the measures of restraint. The investigation is ongoing.
The operation was carried out jointly with the National Police under the procedural supervision of the Prosecutor General’s Office.
