SSU exposes dealers in Kyiv region supplying materials for anti-drone nets to russia

The Security Service of Ukraine has exposed the owners of an industrial group of companies from the Kyiv region who were supplying materials to the russian investigative committee for the installation of anti-drone defences.

The investigation revealed that this is an extensive network of companies comprising 39 Ukrainian enterprises engaged in the manufacture of roofing and facade products.

The actual owners of this group are a Ukrainian businessman and his son, who had left for russia even before the start of the full-scale war.

There, the younger suspect controls two further companies in the cities of Belgorod and Reutov, which are effectively subsidiaries of the suspects’ Ukrainian business structure.

Under his leadership, both enterprises on the territory of the aggressor state manufacture metal structures. One of the contracts being fulfilled by these companies involves the supply of anti-drone nets for the needs of russia’s investigative committee.

In addition, the suspects actively finance russia’s armed aggression by paying taxes into the russian budget or making direct investments in the aggressor’s military-industrial complex.

To this end, the businessmen first channelled profits from their business in Ukraine to offshore companies under their control, which were registered in the names of front persons.

They then carried out foreign exchange transactions into the accounts of russian enterprises under their control.

The Security Service of Ukraine documented the criminal scheme and detained the senior suspect in Kyiv, whilst his son remains in hiding in russia.

SSU investigators have notified the detainee of his status as a suspect under Article 111-2.1 of the CCU (aiding the aggressor state).

The suspect is in custody without bail. The law enforcement plans to freeze his extensive holdings, which comprise 30 apartments, 20 parking spaces, and 29 vehicles.

The criminal actions of the suspect’s son have also been classified as aiding the aggressor state, and he has been notified of suspicion in absentia.

As he is currently in russia, efforts to bring him to justice are underway.

The pre-trial investigation is ongoing.

The operational and investigative measures were carried out by the SSU Office in Kyiv and the Kyiv Region under the procedural supervision of the Kyiv Regional Prosecutor’s Office.
