SSU exposes traitor in Vinnytsa who recruited Ukrainian prisoners to Wagner PMC (video)

In Vinnytsia, the SSU blocked a channel of ‘recruiting’ former prisoners to the ranks of the russian private military company ‘Wagner’.

As a result of a special operation, the SSU detained a russian agent who was selecting ‘candidates’ and recruiting them to the occupation troops.

For joining the russian PMC and participating in warfare against the Defence Forces, the ‘recruiter’ offered each ‘soldier’ a monetary reward of USD 2,000 to 4,000 per month.

According to the investigation, the ruscist agent is a local recidivist who had spent 15 years in prison for robbery and gang rape.

Through his wide network of connections in the criminal community, including in russia, the man was contacted by a representative of the ‘Wagner’ group, who offered him to assist in the war against Ukraine.

On the enemy instructions, the Vinnytsia resident began to look for criminals, who would agree to join the private military company.

During the search of the suspect’s home, the SSU found mobile phones and computer equipment with evidence of his communication with the ‘Wagner’.

SSU investigators notified the detainee of suspicion of high treason committed under martial law (Article 111.2 of the CCU).

Court is to decide on custody as a measure of restraint.

The SSU carried out the operation under the procedural supervision of Vinnytsia Region Prosecutor’s Office.
