SSU detains teen FSB agent building bombs for terrorist attacks in Kharkiv
The SSU Counterintelligence, together with the SSU Military Counterintelligence, thwarted another attempt by ruscists to carry out new terrorist attacks in Kharkiv. Thanks to proactive measures, a minor was exposed: on behalf of russia’s federal security service, she was preparing a series of explosions in crowded places in Kharkiv.
The Security Service caught the suspect red-handed when she was retrieving an improvised homemade bomb from a cache disguised near garbage containers during curfew.
The investigation established that the perpetrator was going to take a taxi to transport the bomb to the city centre and hide it for remote detonation during rush hour.
According to the investigation, the enemy’s task was carried out by a 17-year-old Kharkiv resident recruited on a Telegram channel for ‘easy money’.
Agreeing to the promise of quick payments, the girl received coordinates of a cache with an IED and the location of the planned terrorist attack.
The agent also agreed to make bombs herself from improvised materials following the FSB’s instructions. To do this, she purchased chemical components and nails to increase the destructive impact of the blast.
An IED, 5 liters of chemical liquid, and components for another explosive device were seized from the detainee during the search. A smartphone, which she used to contact her FSB handler, was also found in her possession.
SSU investigators have declared the detainee suspect under Article 111.2 of the CCU (high treason, committed under martial law).
The enemy accomplice is in custody and faces up to 15 years in prison with confiscation of property.
The operation was carried out jointly with investigators of the SSU Kharkiv Office under the procedural supervision of the regional Prosecutor’s Office.
