In Zakarpattia region, the SBU exposed and blocked illegal sale of armament. Allegedly, a local citizen appeared to be an organizer of the unlawful business. The offender sold weaponry, which he covertly took out from the JFO area. He was detained red-handed during the SBU special operation.

The organizer searched for clients via personal contacts.

Law enforcement detained the offender in Mukachevo while trying to sell:

• 2 Glock handguns;
• 14 grenades with fuses;
• 22 bayonet knives;
• night-vision device (NVD).

Earlier, during the pre-trial investigation, law enforcement officers documented that the attacker sold an AK-74 machine gun and two RGD-5 grenades.

Within the criminal proceeding initiated for unlawful handling of weapons, ammunition or explosives, the issue of serving a suspicion notice is being settled.

The investigation is ongoing in order to identify and bring to justice all the people involved.

The operation was conducted jointly with the 5^th Investigation Unit (located in Uzhhorod) of the Territorial Directorate of the State Bureau of Investigations in Lviv, the Main National Police Directorate in Zakarpattia region under the supervision of the Zakarpattia Specialized Prosecutor's Office in Military and Defense Sphere.
