SSU uncovers head of ‘russian post’ office that operated during Izium’s occupation
The SSU has detained another collaborator who cooperated with the enemy when part of Kharkiv region was under occupation.
The perpetrator was an employee of an Ukrposhta (Ukrainian post) branch in the then-occupied Izium.
The woman offered her assistance to the invaders in the war against Ukraine, for which was ‘appointed’ to russia’s occupation administration.
She became the head of the local ‘branch of the russian post’. There, the collaborator organized targeted mailing of the aggressor’s propaganda newspapers to the homes of local residents.
The ‘post official’ also forced her subordinates to distribute copies of russian ‘publications’ in the premises of the seized office.
She also tried to introduce postage stamps and envelopes with kremlin symbols into circulation.
After Izium’s liberation, the traitor laid low, hoping to evade justice.
However, the SSU documented the crime, found and detained her.
SSU investigators have now served the detainee a notice of suspicion under Articles 27.2, 28.2 and 111-1.6 of the CCU (collaboration in the form of aiding in the conduct of information activities in cooperation with the aggressor state, committed by prior conspiracy).
The suspect is in custody and faces up to 12 years in prison with confiscation of property.
The operation was carried out by the SSU Kharkiv Office under the procedural supervision of the regional Prosecutor’s Office.
