SSU detains russian agent who prepared missile strike on Kropyvnytskyi power substations

As a result of a multi-stage special operation in Kirovohrad region, the SSU exposed another FSB agent.

The enemy accomplice was collecting information on location of units of Ukrainian Defence Forces and critical infrastructure in the oblast, in particular energy facilities.

Instructed by the russian special service, the agent was to install a GPS tracker near one of the transformer substations in Kropyvnytskyi.

Using the beacon’s signal, occupiers planned to adjust a missile strike on the energy facility.

In case of a successful air attack, invaders planned to continue a series of strikes on Kropyvnytskyi, using the agent’s intelligence.

However, the SSU timely exposed the individual, documented his criminal actions and detained him on an attempt to install the GPS device near the city’s power substation.

According to the investigation, the traitor is a local resident, recruited by the FSB after the start of the full-scale invasion.

The man came to the aggressor’s attention of because of his pro-kremlin views, which he repeatedly shared in his circle.

To collect information for the russian special service, the agent walked to the target areas and took photos and video of the facilities.

The ‘report’ and coordinates were transmitted to the enemy through anonymous messenger apps.

During the inspection of the scene and searches at the suspect’s home, the SSU found:

  • a GPS tracker with a SIM card;
  • phones and computer equipment with evidence of communication with the FSB.

Based on the collected evidence, SSU investigators served the detainee a notice of suspicion of high treason committed under martial law (Article 111.2 of the CCU).

Court chose custody as a measure of restraint.

The SSU Office in Kirovohrad Region carried out the operation to expose the offender under the procedural supervision of the regional Prosecutor’s Office.
